Orange Home Select Description
Orange Home Select is an uncomplicated broadband package that does not include a home phone plan. It's ideal for families as the free Livebox wireless router allows for up to six devices to be connected at once. Gamers can also plug into the Livebox and enjoy high speed online gaming using their PlayStation 2 or Xbox/Xbox 360. Though the package doesn't include a home phone plan, you can plug a regular telephone handset into the Orange Livebox and benefit from its' "second line" facilities. You get free calls to all UK landlines, Orange mobiles and 30 international countries.
Home Select is available at a well-priced £20 (on an 18 month contract) for most users. However, Orange pay monthly mobile phone customers can enjoy the package at the great price of only £10 per month. You'll get generous surfing speeds of up to 8Mbps and unlimited downloads (subject to Orange's fair usage policy). The plan comes with free webmail, so all the family can have their own email accounts, and you'll get free web space to build your own web page. You'll also receive free McAfee Privacy Service with the package, which means you can control and monitor kids' web surfing, protect your personal information and identity, and safeguard your computer from spyware and viruses.
The package is simple to set up. You pop the CD into your computer and follow the on screen instructions. Alternatively, you can request a call out technician from Orange to do it for you, though this will cost you an extra £69.99. Customer support is available once you set up Orange Home Select at 5p per minute (from a BT landline), between the hours of 7am and 11pm, 7 days a week. Online help is also available free of charge, but it's worth noting that if you need to call the specialised technical helpline, this will cost you 50p per minute.
