Company History
Eclipse Internet is a UK-based internet service provider (ISP) and operates from Exeter, Devon. Eclipse was established in 1995 and launched its dial-up internet service in 1996. It went on to specialise in dial-up internet services to homes and businesses in the South West of the UK, before launching its first national broadband service in 2001. Eclipse has since broadened its horizons considerably, and now serves customers nationwide.
In keeping with its no-nonsense approach to broadband, Eclipse was the first UK broadband service simple enough to be installed at home without an engineer.
Eclipse also has a glittering string of awards to its name, notching up plenty over the last five years.
These accolades include Best Business Broadband Provider at the Internet Services Providers’ Association (ISPA) Awards 2003, Best Heavy Business Broadband at the ISPA Awards 2005 and a highly-commended recognition for reliability and service at the PC Pro Awards 2005. Eclipse also walked away with the Best Consumer Broadband award at the 2007 ISPA Awards. An ISPA spokesperson said: “The judges were impressed with Eclipse’s zero-touch fully-automated order processing service and rapid delivery of its broadband services.”
Eclipse is still rivaling its broadband competitors and has been nominated for two awards at the forthcoming 2008 ISPA Awards. The categories it stands to win are Best Business ISP and Best Business Email Awards. If Eclipse’s past success in the broadband industry is anything to go by, chances are it will fair very well indeed. Watch this space.
