AOL is one of the oldest ISPs around and as a result you can be sure their reliability is decent and they will deliver the product you purchase. As one of the older ISPs, you’ll also find they continue to push boundaries and create new incentives in order not to be overshadowed in a rapidly expanding market.

At the moment, new customers can choose to pick up a broadband package that includes selected free hardware such as a laptop or PS3. Laptop deals are increasingly common in the broadband market, however no other ISP has yet offered, or currently offers an up-to-the-minute gaming console as an incentive. As a provider, AOL caters for the average family household no matter how small or large, with reliable and user-friendly broadband.

Packages

AOL now has a variety of broadband products that are offered on either a contract or pay as you go basis. The following products are currently available:

• Wireless Flexi Broadband: £4.99 a month for 3 months, and £14.99 a month thereafter. This deal enables customers to connect at speeds of up to 8Mbps, and has a usage allowance of 10MB. There is a one-off set up fee of £29.99, however a wireless router is included free of charge, and you can cancel the arrangement at any time, as it is not subject to a fixed contract.
  
  
• Wireless Broadband: £4.99 a month for 3 months, £14.99 thereafter. This package is subject to an 18 month contract, and customers can connect at speeds of up to 8Mbps while enjoying 10MB of monthly downloads. There is no set-up fee and a wireless router is included free of charge.
  
  
• Wireless Plus Laptop: £19.99 a month. A HP laptop and wireless router are included in the plan, so it’s ideal for those new to computing and broadband. There’s an 8Mbps connection speed and a generous 40GB data allowance. No connection fee applies.
  
  
• Wireless Plus PS3: £19.99 a month. A PS3 is free and yours to keep permanently, including a Spiderman 3 Blu-Ray DVD and Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Game. A wireless router is also included free of charge, and there is no set-up or connection fee. Connection speed is 8Mbps and there is a 40GB data allowance.

Reputation

AOL’s longevity in the home broadband marketplace is testament to the service it provides. While not the cheapest ISP around, they are by no means the most expensive, and have a reputation for providing decent broadband at reasonable prices, comfortably meeting the needs of the average UK household.

All AOL broadband deals offer free wireless routers, making simple and affordable for those new to broadband to get connected. The AOL broadband software is also known for its simplistic and user friendly layout, with easy to access useful extras such as world news, instant messaging, horoscopes, AOL music and photos.

AOL offer an extensive online help directory, where most common concerns and questions are answered.
